Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

This privacy policy explains how qFiber LTD ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use Meow, our SIP softphone application, and the meow.qfiber.co.il website (collectively, the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

1Introduction

qFiber LTD respects your privacy and understands that entrusting us with your information is a responsibility we take seriously. Meow is designed with a privacy-first approach - we collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the licensing and update systems.

This policy applies to both the Meow desktop application and the meow.qfiber.co.il website. Please read this policy carefully alongside our Terms of Usage.

3Information We Collect

Desktop Application

  • License key - to verify your subscription status
  • Hardware fingerprint - a SHA-256 hash derived from your CPU model, RAM size, network adapter MAC address, and machine ID. This hash is anonymous and cannot be reversed to identify you or your hardware.
  • Startup telemetry (optional) - device fingerprint, operating system type, and application version. Sent once per app startup. You can disable this in Settings → Privacy.
  • Bug reports (voluntary) - if you choose to submit a bug report from the app, diagnostic data such as logs, audio device info, and system details are included. You can review the data before sending.

Website

  • Contact & support forms - name, email address, and message content when you submit a contact form, bug report, or feature request
  • Purchase information - name, email, and payment transaction ID when you purchase a license. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider (Cardcom) and are never stored on our servers.
  • Server logs - IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps are temporarily recorded in standard server logs for security and abuse prevention

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for essential functionality (session management, CSRF protection) and, with your consent, for analytics. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may limit some website functionality but does not affect the desktop application.

4Information We Do NOT Collect

  • No call content, recordings, or call metadata
  • No contacts or address book data
  • No call history or logs
  • No SIP credentials (these never leave your device)
  • No location data or GPS coordinates
  • No payment card numbers (handled by Cardcom)

5Local Data Storage

Meow stores the following data locally on your device in a SQLite database. This data never leaves your device (except license validation as described above):

  • SIP account credentials and configuration
  • Contacts and address book entries
  • Call history (incoming, outgoing, missed)
  • Application settings and preferences
  • License activation data

You can delete all local data by uninstalling the application and removing its data directory.

6Website Analytics

Our website may use web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. These tools collect anonymous, aggregated data such as page views, referral sources, and browser types. No personal information is shared with analytics providers.

You can opt out of analytics tracking by using browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or by adjusting your cookie preferences.

7How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • License activation and validation
  • Processing purchases and delivering license keys
  • Responding to support requests and bug reports
  • Improving the application based on aggregated usage statistics
  • Detecting and preventing fraud or abuse of the licensing system
  • Complying with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

8Third-Party Services & Sharing

Meow connects directly to your SIP provider or PBX. Voice calls are routed between your device and the SIP server you configure - they do not pass through any qFiber infrastructure. We have no access to your calls, their content, or their metadata.

We may share information with the following third parties:

  • Cardcom - our payment processor, which handles card transactions. See Cardcom's privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare - CDN and DDoS protection for our website and API
  • Email service - for sending license keys and support confirmations

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of qFiber LTD, our users, or the public.

9Mergers & Acquisitions

In the event of a sale, merger, or acquisition where control of qFiber LTD substantially transfers to a third party, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The acquiring entity will be bound by the terms of this privacy policy regarding any previously collected data.

10Information Security

We take industry-standard measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all communications between the app/website and our servers
  • Ed25519 digital signatures for license tokens and client-server communication
  • Access to personal information restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Regular security audits of our codebase and infrastructure

While no system can guarantee absolute security, we apply commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard your information in accordance with applicable laws.

In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users via email or a prominent website announcement without undue delay, consistent with law enforcement requirements.

11Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • License data - for the duration of your subscription plus any legally required retention period
  • Purchase records - as required by tax and accounting regulations
  • Support tickets - until resolved, or until you request deletion
  • Telemetry data - aggregated and anonymized; individual pings are not stored long-term

We may delete or decline to collect or retain any information at our discretion.

13Your Rights

Under applicable law (including GDPR and other local privacy regulations where applicable), you may have the following rights:

  • Right of access - request information about what personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification - request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to deletion - request that we delete your personal data from our servers
  • Right to restrict processing - request that we temporarily or permanently stop processing your data
  • Right to object - object to processing of your data or withdraw previously given consent
  • Delete local data - uninstall the application and remove its data directory to delete all locally stored data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below. We may request identity verification before processing your request.

14Children's Privacy

Meow is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

15Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify users via email or the application. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
